Rose Wine

What is Rose wine? It is not mix of red and white? No it isn't! When a wine isn't quite red, it's rose. Technically speakin, this pinkish beverage is produced differently than red wine but with the same grapes. For example White Zinfandel is produced with the same grapes as Red Zinfandel but the two wines are stunningly different. It's a type of wine that incorporates some of the color from the grape skins, but not enough to qualify it as a red wine.

The pink color can rangefrom a pale to a purple, depending on the grape varieties and winemaking tchniques.
The aromas and flavor of rose wines are primarily influenced by the particular grape varieties, but the metod also plays an important part. The flavors of rose wines tends to be more subtle versions of their red wine varietal counterparts. The fruit expectations lean towards strawberry, cherry, and raspberry with some citrus and watermelon presenting on a regular basis.

Rose wines are perfect for spring and summer, as they are served chilled and can be a refreshing accompaniment to a variety of warm weather fare, Rose wines alseo top the charts for food friendly versatility.

My favorite varietys of rose wine is:

*Grenache Rose - It's fruity, usually brilliant ruby red with notes of strawberry, orange and hibiscus.

*Sangiovese Rose - Also fruity, bright copper red. Notes of strawberries and green melon, some feint bitter note on the finish, which makes this wine taste plesantly dry. For me it's must to serve cold in a white wine glass.

* Cabernet Sauvignon Rose - Savory, deep ruby red with flavors of green bell pepper, cherry and black currant. Something to have on a special occasion.

* White Zinfandel Rose - possibly the most popular rose wine, sweet, offers flavors of strawberry and cotton candy. I like it, but only ice cold - then it seems not that sweet.

Enyoy Your rose wine and
have a nice day!

Grand opening.

Toughts and dreams about National Library was around me all my life. And at last it's opened. It was yesterday and was so exciting, I feel like it's most important event in Riga for so many years. A librars is not simply a building, it's a symbol of human knowledge and dream that everyon in Latvia lived with about 25 years. For me it was something I dreamed about since I was born, maybe it's because my parens told me about it and it was dream of all my friends. No we didn't needed just a building, we needed the feelings, we needed to be proud that this huge project will be made. It's important that we have a place for "Dainu skapis" /Cabinet of Folksongs/

Building was designed by Latvian architect Gunnar Birkerts. Latvian literature and folklore speks of the "Castle of Light" as a metaphor for wisdom that has been lost, but will rise again from the depths of the Daugava river after the Latvian people have overcome the intellectual darknes of war, invasion and occupation. Birkerts has incorporated Latvian myths into the design of the National Library building.
Yesterday I was there for a first time and was so excited, it's excellent building where every small detail has story, meaning...

Have a nice day, I hope all Your dreams will come true <3

Wednesday - Wineday

The world of wine can be a little overwhelming - with so many bottles brands and endless styles.
In general there are five categories or types of wine:
1. Red wine
made from blue or purple colored grapes and tend to carry considerable more tennin thanks to the way red wines are made with extended contact between the grape juice and grape skins.
2. White wine
Produced by the alcoholic fermentation of the non coloured pulp of grapes, always have a yellow/green transparent colour. The wide variety of white wines comes from the large number of varieties, methods of winemaking, and also the ratio of residual sugar.
3. Rose wine
Typically made from red wine grapes with just a short exposure of the grape skins to the pressed grape juice. Rose wines are made in wine regions all over the globe and offer a refreshing, well chilled alternative, especially in summer.
4. Sparkling wine and champagne
Are popular type of wine for their bubbly personalities :) Made from red or white wine grapes. The bubbles came from a second fermentation that captures the carbon dioxide undes sustained pressure.
4. Dessert wines
Made from red or white wine grapes and based on higher levels of residual shugar thanks to frozen grapes.

Which type of wine are Your favourite?

Me and my mascaras

I never had a fancy high end mascara, but You know what is the best of it? Never needed! Yes I know that You must to invest in beauty, but I better invest in moisturizer, cleanser, eye cream, hair mask, book, travelling, sweets... Don't think I need a pricy mascara!
Those four I use almoust everyday.
First one is Fennel Lenght Mascara - it's really cheap drugstore mascara, but it's my favourite. The formula is pretty dry and ads so much lenght to my lashes withouth clumping. I's just normal, simple everyday mascara, nothing special, but gives natural long lash effect. Lumene Natural Mascara gives a lot of volume, but not so much lengt, that's the reason why I like to use it with Fennel one. I apply one or two coats of Lumene and then one coat of Fennel and have my everyday dreamlashes :D
Avon Super Shock it very wet, very black, very shoch! It gives effective volume, lenght and curve, but I don't like the brush - it's too big and sometimes it's hard to apply to my inner corner lashes. But the Avon Mega effects ar has the most dissappointing tube ever - it's impossible to apply mascara with this "wand". But the most frustraiting is the fackt that formula is amazing!!! It applys so easly, it doesn't flake or smudge all day, and looks super glamurous.
I hope You all will find Your own perfect mascara!
Have a nice day and thank You for stopping by!
